WE MUST ACT NOW!
The information for the hearing to approve the Western Joshua Tree (Yucca Brevifolia) as a protected species is:
California Fish and Game Commission Joshua Tree Meeting
June 15-16, 2022
9:00 AM
100 S. Main Street (California Dept. of Transportation Building)
Conference Room 1.040 A, B, C
Los Angeles, CA 90012
Instructions to attend meeting remotely
This decision will have an extensive negative impact on the residential and commercial real estate markets in the California desert
regions. According to Mr. Dan Richards (former Fish & Wildlife Commissioner), if this decision is approved, it could take 20
years to contest and hopefully overturn this decision. None of us have 20 years to dedicate to those actions because we failed to
contest it now.
We are encouraging anyone who can attend this hearing to please do so and provide your views of opposition. Attendance is in-person or via Zoom. If you choose to express your opposition, please contact Ms. Leia Fletes, as soon as possible, to inform her
you plan to testify in person or via Zoom.

Also, sending letters opposing an “approval” decision to our Elected Officials, City Mayors, and California’s Fish & Game
Chairman & Executive Director will help. The final decision can lie with the APPOINTED Commissioners, so we must prevent
them from creating such an ill-fated issue for us all.

Again, I encourage anyone who can attend the hearing on in-person or via Zoom, to please do so. Also, send your letter of
opposition.
